The VLC Difference

VLC can make a real difference in young lives by being different in the following ways:
  • Small, calm centres with a focus on therapeutic care, restorative behaviour management and high academic standards.
  • Mathematics, English, SMSC and PSHE are at the centre of each pupil's individual learning package at VLC.
  • At KS4, depending on preference, pupils can study for  either GCSE or Functional Skills in Mathematics and English.
  • Curriculum is bespoke to the needs of each student.  Pupils can also study (to GCSE at KS4):  English Literature, History, Religious Education, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and French.
  • We also offer non-examined learning in the following:  Art, PE, Cookery, Music, Careers and Digital Literacy
  • All of the above subjects are also available to our KS3 and KS2 pupils
  • Teaching on a one to one / one to two basis in a calm environment to encourage rapid and sustained progress.
  • Through our therapeutic approach, some pupils are able to return to mainstream school life rapidly.  Others, need our help for longer.
  • Our teaching is secular, but each centre has a compassionate Christian ethos, in which all children are welcomed, valued and treated with respect. Experience has shown that this mutual respect has a powerful and transformative affect.
  • Our experienced specialist counsellor works with a number of our pupils.
  • Our transitions worker helps our students to understand their potential and aspire to achieve well in their future careers.
We think these differences help our students achieve the highest academic qualifications.

"Leamington Vineyard is a great facility. It provides education on a human scale for young people who have experienced severe difficulty in mainstream schooling. Using a caring approach, real concern for the individual and a high quality of one to one tuition, it succeeds in helping students to reconnect with learning and to achieve well. It caters equally well for students who need a temporary alternative and those who are in real danger of falling out of education." - Mark Feldman - ex-Head Teacher, Campion School
VLC is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) under the Charity No. 1184444.
Please note that we used to be known as Leamington Vineyard Learning Centre.  This operated under. the umbrella of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Leamington and Warwick:  Charity No: 1068725, Company No: 03501830
